Sencha Fukujyu is one of Japan's most popular teas. Japan Sencha Genmai Cha - 125g Loose Leaf Tea £6.45
A Japanese speciality tea with roasted wholemeal rice. Genmai cha, literally meaning "brown rice tea", is a blend of Green tea leaves and partially puffed rice. This combination gives the tea a roasted aroma and the resulting infusion is often described as having a "toasted flavour". Genmai cha is often blended using various leaves as the base, more commonly the larger Bancha leaves are used, but our Genmai Cha is blended using only the higher grade Sencha leaf. Although a speciality tea, Genmai cha is becoming very popular not only for its unique "popcorn" taste but also because it is lower in caffeine than many other green teas. Japan Kokei Cha - 125g Loose Leaf Tea £6.50
Kokei Cha is a traditonal Japanese ceremonial tea predominantly produced in the Shizouka region of Japan. The unique square edged lengths of tea are formed by firstly grinding the green tea leaves into a fine powder, then after being mixed with water to form a paste, it is passed through a fine mesh to form the spaghetti-like strings. The Kokei Cha strings are then left to dry before they are finally cut into managable lengths. The resulting infusion is a smooth tasting, yellowish liquor with delightful nutty notes. Our Kokei Cha is brought to you in heat sealed foil bags to maintain its freshness and unique qualities.
